![]() So I guess my question to the 1400 owners out there is whether your printers have the same problem or not. On the left end you can see the banding, which appears nowhere else in the print. This is a lengthways slice of a 4圆" print. Here is a scan of a print so you can (hopefully, if I didn't screw it up) see what I mean So I did that today, but unfortunately the new one does exactly the same thing. So I talked to Epson, and after a bit of back and forth, they agreed it was probably a dud printer and to return it. ![]() This coincides with the area under the printer heads when the back rollers release the trailing edge of the paper while it is being fed out. After the usual head cleaning/head alignment routines made no difference, I took a closer look and noticed that the banding was occurring in a specific part of the print only - in an area between 12 mm and 34 mm in from the trailing edge of the print. I bought a new Epson 1400 last week (finally upgrading from an ancient 1280), and noticed that there was some slight banding when printing to Premium Glossy Photo Paper.
